It was the fall of 1987. Ron Hostetler and Brian Nunemaker were both interested in the same field of standing corn. The right to harvest the field was being auctioned away to the highest bidder. Rather than bid each other up, they decided to purchase the field together.

This was the first step of many towards the building of a formal partnership in 1989. Since 1989, Oak Prairie Farms has grown from 2,600 acres to more than 12,000. The key to Oak Prairie's success is the belief that higher goals can be reached in cooperation than alone.
